We welcome thoroughbreds and warmbloods at every stage of life, from young horses beginning their journey to performance horses enjoying a well-earned break. Every horse is managed according to its individual needs, with tailored feeding programs, attentive hands-on care and a peaceful environment designed to encourage both physical and mental well-being.
With spacious paddocks, safe facilities and close monitoring throughout the day, horses are given the time and space to truly unwind before returning home relaxed, strengthened and ready for whatever comes next.
We also offer tailored quarantine preparation for horses travelling to New Zealand, ensuring a smooth, safe and low-stress transition.
Rehabilitation & Recovery
Recovery takes time, patience and the right environment. At Tilba Farm, we provide a calm, supportive setting where horses can recover from injury or enjoy an extended period away from work under the guidance of their treating veterinarian or equine professional.
Every horse is cared for according to its individual requirements, with tailored feeding programs, attentive hands-on care and thoughtful day-to-day management. Working closely with veterinarians, farriers and allied equine professionals, we support each horse's recovery with consistency, allowing both body and mind the opportunity to heal.
Our focus is simple: providing horses with the best possible environment to recover, rebuild and return home healthy, confident and ready for the next stage of their journey.
Retirement & Long-Term Care
Every horse deserves a retirement that is safe, peaceful and filled with the same care and attention they received throughout their working life.
At Tilba Farm, retired horses enjoy spacious one-acre or shared two-acre paddocks, tailored feeding programs and attentive, hands-on care in a calm environment designed for comfort and well-being. We take the time to know every horse as an individual, ensuring they continue to receive the routine, care and companionship they deserve.
Whether they've finished a successful performance career or are simply ready to enjoy life at a gentler pace, retirement at Tilba Farm is about allowing horses to live comfortably, happily and with dignity.
Because retirement should be every bit as rewarding as the years that came before.
Breeding
Our thoroughbred and warmblood breeding program is intentionally small, allowing every mare and foal to receive the individual care and attention they deserve.
We focus on breeding horses with quality, soundness and temperament, carefully selecting each pairing with the future of the horse always in mind. From foaling through to early development, every youngster is raised in a safe, nurturing environment where they are given the time to grow, mature and develop naturally.
Rather than breeding for numbers, we breed with purpose- laying strong foundations for confident, capable horses ready for successful futures, whatever discipline they may pursue.
Dressage Coaching
With decades of experience as both a dressage coach and accredited judge, our coaching is centered on developing confident, harmonious partnerships between horse and rider.
Lessons are available at Tilba Farm or off-site by arrangement, with each session tailored to the individual combination. Whether establishing correct foundations or refining movements at a higher level, the focus remains on correct training, feel, balance and understanding- helping both horse and rider progress with confidence.
